For those with boys.

So the Boy and I are trying to potty train. It was REALLY hard for the Girl, probably because I was doing it all wrong. She would go everywhere BUT the potty. Good times... But, the Boy's problem isn't that he won't go on the potty, he just HATES underwear. Even though we bought him special Cars underwear. So, what do I do? Do I let him run around naked? Do I force it? I'd love it if he was trained before the baby comes, but that's 9 weeks away and I think he may be more stubborn than that.
Help?

I wish I had good advice...I would say, let him be NUDE, if that helps him go, and then when he gets it down or gets more used to the idea of wearing underwear, then he can. Get that boy trained before #3 comes so you don't have to buy 2 diff, kids of diapers!!!! YIKES. GOOD LUCK!

he may just not find the underwear comfortable. Try a different style. And yes, there are boxers out there for these little guys. he may find that a lot more comfortable.

Good luck with the potty training. I tried to get Aiden potty trained before we had Dallin. SO didn't happen. I finally gave up, and it got rid of so much stress in our house. then, when he turned 3, he just one day decided he was ready and we've had little to no problems ever since! Dallin was waaaay too young to potty train before we had Parker, and even now he has absolutely NO interest in it. We're trying every bribe out there right now. :)

some kids revert back once there is a new change in the family, and it may just happen when the new baby comes. So, if you want to put off training until after you're all used to the baby, don't feel guilty about doing that. And seriously, it's not as bad as I thought it would be to have 2 in diapers. We just have the diapers in 2 different drawers so we know who's is who's, and the boys get changed at the same time. helps make me not feel like all I do is change diapers all day. :)

I'm not going to think about it for another 2 years. After training two, I won't even begin until he is three. I will however build up, for at least a month before, the big boy underwear.

Sariah is right some boys don't like tighty whities (briefs) so if you can find boxers or boxer briefs that may help. He may also hate the big boy underwear because he doesn't feel as secure. That will change with consistency.

As for having two in diapers, other than the expense, it wasn't that big a deal. Really what is one more. The newborn diapers aren't that bad and seeing as you have changed some adults it should be nothing.

Just remember the small victories and in week three of hard core training, when you are about to slit your wrists because it looks like its going nowhere, just know your about a week away from being done. Yay!
